Prof. Alicia M Sintes wins multiple awards for contributions to LIGO and gravitational waves

Prof. Alicia M Sintes, member of the University of Balearic Islands Relativity and Gravitation Group, has received the "Onda Cero Menorca 2016" award for Science and Research, the "Menorca por la igualdad 2016" award by the PSOE party, and the "Protagonista de la Vida Menorquina' 2016 award in Social Activities by the 'Diari de Menorca' for her teaching, outreach and research activities associated to the first detection of gravitational waves!

University of the Balearic Islands Wins Receives Awards for LIGO Detection

In February of 2016, the Relativity and Gravitation group at the University of the Balearic Islands was awarded the Onda Cero Mallorca 2016 their contribution to the detection of gravitational waves. Sarah Gossan Chosen as Caltech Garmire Scholar

LIGO Engineering Team Wins 2016 Paul F. Forman Team Engineering Excellence Award
